1. Attorney advertising; no legal advice
The Site is attorney advertising under the New York Rules of Professional Conduct. The information on the Site is general information about the Firm and the areas in which the Firm practices. It is not legal advice and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney concerning your specific circumstances. Reading the Site, contacting the Firm, or sending information through the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship with the Firm is created only by an executed written engagement letter signed by both you and the Firm.
2. No confidential information
Do not send confidential, proprietary, or privileged information to the Firm through the Site or by email until an attorney-client relationship has been established in writing. Information transmitted before an engagement is in place is not protected by the attorney-client privilege and may not be treated as confidential.
3. Bar admission and jurisdiction
Theodore Hall is admitted in the State of New York. Where a matter requires advice on the law of a jurisdiction other than New York, the Firm engages local counsel. The Firm does not solicit clients in jurisdictions where it is not authorized to practice.
